About the Role

Role Overview:

As a Community Operations Manager at Blue Elephant Island, you will be a key contributor to our efforts in creating an engaging and inclusive community. Here's a glimpse of what the role entails:

Responsibilities:

Community Design and Planning:

Participate in the design and planning of our communities, ensuring a welcoming and dynamic environment.
Community Building:

Build, nurture, and grow safe communities across multiple channels (Discord, Reddit, X, etc.) by interacting directly with users.
Moderation Coordination:

Coordinate the work of volunteer moderators and lead conversations with members, promoting respect and transparency.
Content Creation:

Create engaging content (text, images, videos, etc.) to foster a lively and enjoyable community atmosphere.
Resource Allocation Recommendations:

Provide recommendations to Blue Elephant Island on where to invest limited community and social resources.
Community Feedback:

Identify meaningful community feedback trends and present them artfully to the development team.
Social Activities:

Develop, execute, measure, and improve social activities around event releases, content updates, etc.
Relationship Management:

Build and maintain healthy relationships with content creators, influencers, fan sites, and other third-party teams within the community.
Collaboration:

Collaborate with the Blue Elephant Media communications and marketing team to identify and deliver opportunities virtually and in person.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:


  • 3+ years of experience creating and growing thriving content communities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Familiarity with online communities and social platforms (e.g., Discord, X, etc.). Stay current or even ahead of trends.

  • Ability to create excellent external-facing content.

  • Experience creating and protecting safe, welcoming community spaces.

  • Passion for comfort gaming.

  • Strong relationships with key community members, influencers, etc.

  • Experience working with external marketing and communications partners.

  • Experience in live streaming.
